Video technology solutions company Edit.TV has clinched a major deal with the leading internet TV provider in Asia.
It means the company will provide Allied Pacific Sports Network (APSN) with an innovative and dynamic video service across more than 20 internet sites showing football matches from some of the biggest leagues in the world, including the Premier League, the German Bundesliga and Brazil’s Campeonato.
Among the most exciting applications being provided by Edit.TV will be the managing of event data in real time during the live streaming of a match. This allows subscribers to the service to flick back and watch events that have happened – such as goals or a red card – and then jump back to the live stream.
Edit.TV’s technology also enables matches to be automatically synchronised with relevant game data files to create event driven highlights, while the Video on Demand facility also allows for instant search by events or players from a particular league’s library.
The signing of the deal with APSN – which will officially launch the service this weekend (March 19) – comes just weeks after Edit.TV’s cutting edge technology, which is backed by 17 patents, was made available to subscribers to the Liverpool FC TV website.
Fans accessing www.liverpoolfc.tv/video/Edit-TV/free.php3 are now able to search, edit and tag video content to suit their specific requirements, creating personalised match highlights by player and events.
Matt O’Connor, one of Edit.TV’s directors, said: “This is a stunning deal for Edit.TV and one that vindicates all the hard work in bringing our ground-breaking video technology solutions to market.
“We are delighted to be partnering with APSN at such an exciting time with their plans to launch a subscription-based internet television service across the entire Asian region showing exclusive football content from some of the most famous leagues in the world.”
Peter Schloss, Chief Executive of APSN, said: “APSN is revolutionising the way fans receive sports content in Asia and we are constantly looking for new and innovative techniques to further people’s viewing enjoyment.
“We are delighted to be working closely with Edit.TV across live, on-demand and archived content. Edit.TV’s dynamic solutions will provide our customers with a powerful, intuitive and engaging video service.”
