UK – October, 2008 – Edit Technologies, the leading provider of end to end video tagging systems have announced the development and imminent release of a cutting edge video navigation application with PCTV Systems, the world’s leading supplier of PCTV tuner cards. The application allows users to record football matches onto their hard drive using the PCTV card and then tag the matches to create a personal highlights library. Football matches become highlights packages, with the key events in the match available to navigate, watch and compile at the touch of a button, all without touching the original match. Once a user has tagged multiple matches, they can search and compile personalised highlights to watch using Edit’s powerful search and discovery feature.
Edit use OPTA data to syncronise with Edit’s video event technology to create fully tagged video files, automatically. “Users can record football matches on their PC, and at the moment can only find events by scrolling through the video bar, said Edit Head of Operations Ian Woolsey. “The application we have developed alongside PCTV allows users to instantly have access to highlights of the big games, and to jump straight to the key events in a match, at the touch of a button.”
“Users can sync any number of matches, and then create video mash-ups to watch on their desktop simply by searching their video event library. It totally revamps how a user watches football”.
The stand alone application will be available users of PCTV cards in Germany in November as downloadable software priced at 25 Euros. The football competitions supported in November are the German Bundesliga, the UEFA Cup and the UEFA Champions League.
